The Linton club will remain open on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. The club’s AGM will be held on 3 June and our summer programme will start on 27 May and then run each Tuesday from 10 June to 19 August. Similar to last year our plans are to run the Ribbands Rapidplay tournament alongside other events, such as problem-solving, coaching, studies and occasional talks by players illustrated by their games.
For the first few weeks we will have two rounds of the Ribbands Rapidplay each evening, starting at 7.30pm and 8.40pm. In the short break between rounds tea and coffee will be available, but it would help if you could bring your own mug. From around the end of June we will intersperse double-rapidplay evenings with mixed evenings (one round of rapidplay and an hour of one of the options above).
The mixed sessions are as follows.
24 June Puzzle-solving evening with Paul K
8 July Queen endings with Konrad
22 July Rook endings with Paul M
5 August Winning won games with James
12 August Pressurise strong players to beat them with Alan
